A Blog for Busy BCBAs

Have you ever Googled something specific to being a BCBA? I have and I haven’t had a ton of luck locating what I am looking for.

Are you sick of sifting through dozens of posts that don't meet your needs?

Do you get suckered into clicking a link for an American Bar Association post?

Would you like someone to lay out some steps to becoming a more organized BCBA?

Why This Blog?

What if your workplace isn’t rich with colleagues for you to learn from?

Does it seem that you spend more time in your car than with actual clients?

Being a Behavior Analyst is All I Know

I’ve only ever been a behavior analyst. That means that everything I've accomplished or worked to do was within that vein. Over the years, I’ve Googled things like “Scheduling for BCBAs” or “How to set up a home office for a BCBA” and gotten NOTHING. To supplement my lack of Google Gold, I have created much of my own. I’d love to share what’s worked, hasn’t worked and what I’m working on. I love documentation, processes and systems!

Resources for the BCBA

I won’t be posting resources for teaching clients how to ...well, anything. This is all for you, the clinician. There are more than enough resources out there for working with clients. I haven’t found a great resource pool for the practicing clinician to practice their life.

I’ve Tried it All

Ok...

I haven't tried everything.  Not all, but it feels like darn near everything! I have tried more planners than I care to admit. I’ve tried the different systems of material storage. I’ve tried keeping organized client records. Somewhere along the way, I developed my system. I want to share some of the wisdom and resources I’ve developed over the past many years!

Real Life is Different

In school, we got a syllabus with clear expectations. All steps to meet those expectations scoped and sequenced to build upon one another. Complex steps broken down into manageable reminders.

Its a whole other skill to juggle life (Do you have a dentist appointment scheduled?) and work responsibilities and feel like you’re making progress.

You will find something that you like here. If it's not here yet, let me know...I bet it’s on my radar!

Let’s Do This!
