A new planner can become another place where the same impossible week looks organized. Before changing tools, put the work in view.
Include the surrounding work
A meeting occupies time. Preparing for it also occupies time, as do the notes and decisions afterward. If the calendar shows only the meeting, everything around it still needs a place.
Give thinking a place
Identify a question that requires review rather than a quick response. You do not need to solve it while planning. You do need to acknowledge that clinical thinking belongs in the workload.
Name what will move
If available time is smaller than the work, decide what needs to be deferred, renegotiated, or discussed with the appropriate person. A more detailed list cannot resolve a capacity mismatch.
Our 10-Minute BCBA Weekly Reset offers five questions about fixed commitments, clinical thinking, friction, people, and what is not for this week. Use the questions to choose a next move, then stop before the reset becomes another project.
