Here's the thing. The mission of The Busy BCBA is 100% clear and straight forward. I want to make sure that BCBAs can live their life and continue to practice for as long as possible with all supports and strategies to be successful. The Busy BCBA strives to make the world a bit easier for the practicing behavior analyst.
Essentially, saving the world one behavior analyst at a time.
One behavior analyst at a time.
I thought The Busy BCBA was ready for everyone. Turns out, she needed some work. I needed some work. I started with myself. This has been a life changing year for me.
Each year, at some point in January, I create a mind map of my goals for my life. They're broken down into 3 months, one year, three years and lifetime. Each year, I meet one goal...total.
ONE.
You guys, they are not hard goals that I am setting. I didn't try. I couldn't do hard things. In 2018 I met my goal for reading. I wanted to read 25 books and I read 30-something books just because I wanted to.
This year, everything changed on March 13. The seed was planted to stop apologizing. August 1, I gave up drinking soda. Well, that's not 100% true. I committed to keep a promise to myself and that promise was to not drink soda. On August 31, I gave up smoking. On October 1 I gave up french fries. I discovered I could do ANYTHING.
Without trying, I am changing my life for the better. I reviewed my 2019 goals a month ago. I have met so many of them! Some, aren't important anymore and that is OK.
The Busy BCBA will be back-up and interactive this month. I am ecstatic to share some great resources and experiences with you all.
Here are a few things we will be working on:
1) An accountability course - we'll be starting with a very small pilot group looking to commit to studying for the certification exam. **This will not be a course on studying for the exam nor looking at content for the exam.
2) A deeper dive into some content areas.
3) We have some amazing guest posts coming up!!
I can't wait to save the world with all of you! Look out 2020 :)
